A quick comparison of older and newer models of vehicles whizzing by on America’s motorways can quickly illustrate just how much vehicle technology and styles have changed – not only are newer model bigger, but their designs are predominantly sleeker. As automakers have added content to their vehicles to improve vehicle safety and meet consumer demands for new features, both complexity and vehicle weight have grown with tail lights, head lamps, bumper covers, etc. all playing a larger role in the overall design of the vehicle.

Along with added parts and added weight, repair costs continue to rise as well. As vehicle complexity continues to grow, parts will play a growing role in repair costs and having access to the appropriate parts and managing costs will become even more critical.
